Muriwai Beach
If a walk on one on New Zealand's most rugged and picturesque beaches is enticing, then visit the wild west surf and sand of Muriwai Beach.
Watch out for the hang-gliders. New Zealand’s northern- most gannet colony can be found nesting on Otakamiro Point.  Breeding starts in early August as the gannets find their lifelong mate and November brings chicks.

Coatesville Sunday Markets
On the first Sunday of each month, you can enjoy the colourful market at Coatesville.  Tempting local crafts,
hand-made chocolates, breads and organic produce.
Watch in amazement as Maori art is hand crafted from ponga logs.  Hand crafted jewellery, bags, paintings, photographs and garden art to locally designed and made clothes, Coatesville Market has something for everyone.

Stop for lunch or a light snack in one of the nearby cafes where you will find  the best of NZ wines and beers.

Visit one of the beautiful west Auckland vineyards. Kerr Farm, Matua Valley, Nobilo and West Brook which are all within a few minutes drive. 

Soljans Estate Winery has been family owned for three generation, producing Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Pinotage. Ph: (09) 412-5858. 

Kumeu River was established in 1944 by the Yugoslav Brajkovich family. Well known for its Chardonnays, they also produce Rose, Pinot Noir and Merlot.
