We have been busy over the last few weekends build

We have been busy over the last few weekends building some sculptures for the farm 💜 First is the outdoor picture frames to make those pictures of Lavender Hill look even better! Next we thought the bees could benefit from some garden art while they were waiting out the latest lockdown 🐝

Both sculptures have been built right here on the farm, and we have a few more ideas in the working! We’re looking forward to everyone seeing these sculptures in person during the summer farm tours ☀️

Spring means that lambing season is now upon us 🐑 We’ve had seven very cute lambs born so far, including two sets of twins! It’s always fun to watch the lambs bounce around the paddock in the sun ☀️

We're proud to have our beautiful extra virgin olive oil certified by International Olive Council, the world's only international organisation in the field of olive oil and table olives 🙌🌏

Our olive oil is made from handpicked Frantoio, Koroneki and Leccino olives and scored superbly across the board. It's low in free fatty acids (which is the unpleasant metallic taste you find in some oils), free from flavour defects and has the desired fruity, pungent and bitter flavour profiles 🌿

Thanks to our “limited” number of fabulous helpers we were able to harvest during lockdown, but like all boutique olive groves stock is limited so get in quick before it runs out! Available to purchase at our farm shop or online 💜

Exciting news! We have partnered up with @thedessertexperience to host a unique dessert food pairing experience, featuring some of our very own products produced at Lavender Hill farm 🌿
In the three-hour experience, guests will learn about the art of food pairings from Claire, a real French Patisserie Chef, and will enjoy a full tour of Lavender Hill Farm to see how we produce our gin, olive oil and limoncello.
The event will take place ‪on Sunday 16 August‬, with two available sittings for morning tea and afternoon tea and 8 guest spots per sitting. Be quick to secure your place via the link in our bio 💜

At Lavender Hill, we are proud to be a local business supporting the Kiwi economy 💜 We first purchased the land back in 2015. It was the whole package that attracted us to the property: a small farm with potential, Ian Burrows designed home, fabulous views and commuting distance from the city. However, we went in knowing a lot of hard work was needed to create something world class.
We've worked hard to diversify the property and improve every aspect of it to a standard we were proud of and our visitors expected. We have invested an incredible amount of energy to improve the land (fencing, massive pruning program, arborists, new lavender fields, new gardens), new branding, new products and new online sales channels (gin, limoncello, lavender products, olive oil), new farm animals, all the tools and machinery to make this happen...oh and renovating a wonderful bohemian 1970s house!
We absolutely love what we do, and seeing how positively people react to the farm and the quality of the experience is always a good feeling 🌿

We love seeing all the different ways our customers use Lavender Hill products 🌿
@miesterswellness has created her own DIY sanitiser using our lavender hydrosol, a product that is created as part of the oil distillation process. Lavender flowers are exposed to steam, which drags the essential oil out of the flowers. As the steam condenses, the oil is separated from the liquid, resulting in a 100% clear solution with the delicious aroma of the lavender oil 💜
The uses for hydrosol are as limited as your imagination – you can use it as a spray for manchester, clothing or even pets!

The 2020 Lavender Hill Olive Harvest is now complete! A big thank you to our volunteers as we were very restricted in numbers due to Covid19 guidelines. This resulted in a lot more hard work than normal! Next year we look forward to welcoming more people to share the experience. We will update everyone on the yield once the olives have been pressed 🌿

Made with love from rescue worker bees, our delicious honey is made from lavender plants across the farm. As the temperature starts to drop, we love using it in a hot lemon and honey drink to boost immunity and keep cosy 🍋🍯

Much like humans, alpacas are a social bunch. They are happiest in a herd and many alpaca breeders will not sell them as a single or to a home with only one or two alpacas! You definitely won't catch our herd of five alpacas abiding by social distancing measures 🦙

Did you know? Our limoncello is made with hand pee

Did you know? Our limoncello is made with hand peeled organic lemons from our very own farm, and the only ingredients are lemon peel, alcohol and sugar 🍋
If you're new to limoncello, serve mixed with prosecco for a delicious twist. However we think it tastes best on its own - it's best served chilled, so pop it in the freezer for a couple of hours before drinking!

While you're at home, we can bring our farm shop to you! It's a perfect treat after a long day working from home or a thoughtful gift to send to a loved one as a reminder that you're thinking of them 💜
Please note: delivery is only available for our Lavender Gin, Saffron Gin, Limoncello, Lavender Honey, Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Hand Soap. All other product orders will be processed once the current level 4 lockdown restrictions are lifted. We are self-contained within in our bubble and all stock was created well before the Covid-19 emergency. We are operating in a contactless only environment and will take all precautionary measures to sanitise our products before delivery.
